- WORKSHOP MEETING Sunday, June 10, 2018 (2nd Sunday, due to Father's Day), 6 to 8:30 p.m.

With Pro Video & Song Feedback

Why Attend A Workshop Meeting?

Feedback on your music can be valuable before you spend money on an expensive, polished recording.
Or, before you meet with a publisher or production music library to pitch your music.
Or, before you hand over your lyrics or tracks to your collaborator.

Or, before you put your songs "out there" on social media.
Or, before you attend an important music conference.
Or, before you send that mp3 to a Music Supervisor.

Or, before you perform your new song live.

Feedback is also helpful when you're trying to get your song or composition to the next level.
Remember that opinions expressed at the Workshop Meetings
and by the NSAI Pro Evaluators are just that: Opinions.
But, feedback can be useful when "fresh ears" hear your song for the first time.
Even full-time, professional composers and successful hit songwriters often seek feedback from
trusted sources before their music is ready to be presented to the world.

Don't Miss Tin Pan South in April in Nashville

TIN PAN SOUTH SONGWRITING SEMINAR April 2-3, 2018 - Previously known as NSAI Spring Training.  Not only has the event had a name change, but we've changed a few other things as well! Tin Pan South Songwriting Seminar (TPSSS) is the perfect event for songwriters of any genre and any skill level to further develop their songwriting skills. Walk away from the seminar with new knowledge, inspiration, and hopefully quite a few new co-writing friends!  NSAI’s longest running event (over 20 years) sets the standard by which all other Nashville songwriting seminars are measured. Former Spring Training attendees include hit writers Jon Vezner (Where’ve You Been– Kathy Mattea), Tia Sillers (I Hope You Dance – LeAnne Womack), Barry Dean (Girls Chase Boys - Ingrid Michaelson, Pontoon – Little Big Town) and Lance Carpenter (Love Me Like You Mean It – Kelsea Ballerini). Important Music Industry Events (Los Angeles Area)

One of the "secrets to success" in the music industry is finding about -- and going to -- events where the people you want to meet will be. Want to get to know your PRO Rep from SESAC, BMI, or ASCAP?  Looking for a music publisher? Need a serious, professional collaborator, singer, producer, composer?  Here are some important, reputable, high-level music organizations that hold events for songwriters and composers.

Click on the event logo for more information.  Some of these organizations also have a Chapter in
New York and Nashville. In most cases, you do not have to be a member of the organization to attend their special events, conferences, and monthly meetings.  However, most require that you create a free account or contact them to be placed on their email list.  Many of these organizations also work with NSAI going to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., to fight for songwriters' and composers' rights.  For Nashville events, click HERE

HISTORY OF NSAI: In 1967 there were approximately 80 songwriters in Nashville, Tennessee.  Eddie Miller, who wrote the classic song “Please Release Me, Let Me Go,” was determined that they needed a “voice”.  Over lunch, he, Buddy Mize and Bill Brock envisioned the Nashville Songwriters Association.  The first organizational meeting was held at the Old Professional's Club on Music Row. Forty-one songwriters were founding members of the organization including Kris Kristofferson, Marijohn Wilkin, Jerry Chestnut, Danny Dill, Liz and Casey Anderson, Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, and Ted Harris.

THE BLUEBIRD CAFE: NSAI in Nashville owns and operates the world-famous Bluebird Cafe, featured on the ABC TV show "Nashville."  Many songwriters like Kathy Mattea, Keith Urban, Garth Brooks, and Taylor Swift got their start at the Bluebird or through NSAI.  For more information about the Bluebird, click HERE.
