Billboard Charts for Hit Songs

Keeping up with current songs is an important part of songwriting, especially if one of the goals is to get a publishing deal or to write a hit song.  Studying the Billboard charts and listening and analyzing hit songs is an important part of the process.  To find out what hit songs are on the Billboard charts each week, click HERE

Billboard Magazine first published its list of popular music in 1936.
It continues to keep track of music with charts in various genres including:
The Hot 100, Country, Pop, Rock, R&B/Hip Hop, Latin, Dance/Electronic, Christian/Gospel, etc.

Tunefind & IMDb for Film & TV Music

For songwriters who'd like to write for film or TV, it's all about knowing what types of songs are getting placed.  To research music on a TV show of film, check out Tunefind and click HERE.

Another great resource is IMDb, or the Internet Movie Database.  It's great for looking up who worked on what film or TV show.  If you join IMDb Pro, you'll have access to contact information as well.  For more information about IMDb, click HERE.
