Low Key Lover

Elliott Brown

Low Key Lover

Written and Composed by Elliott Brown

Verse 1:
After a blur of dates
Lost in a haze of time
Dinners turned to breakfasts
She’s In my bed and on my mind

Pre chorus:
I don’t want to trip
My dream girl is at my fingertips
With every text my heart beat skips
Trying to hold back but I can’t resist

Chorus:
Low key lover
I low key love her
I low key need her
More that I am letting on
Low key lover
I low key love her
I low key told her
I never felt something this strong

Na na na na
Na na na na
Na na na na
Na na na

Verse 2:
Secrets we care to keep
Shared dreams between the sheets
Thinking I’m in heaven
She whispers things I won't repeat

Pre Chorus:
I won’t let it slip
The four letter word that's at my lips
killed so many relationships
Taking this slow but losing my grip

Chorus

Bridge:
She kisses me slow
Laughs at my jokes
She feels the same way
She fixes my hair
Wears my old shirts
she feels the same way

Chorus

Framed

Cathryn Beeks

FRAMED
Cathryn Beeks 2017

Throw a stick into the river, close your eyes and make a wish
Watch it bounce around, now the water has your wish on it’s lips
Only the current knows your secret and who knows how long she’ll keep it

Following the water, following your dreams
Catching up with that stick, is harder than it seems
And when the rapids toss you ‘round
you gotta hold on tight to keep from going down

and then the river widens, the noises quiet
it’s calm and still and safe
those moments are so far and few
so beautiful, they should be framed

I’ve got a picture on my mantle
In a frame made out of sticks
The picture’s of a river
But I can’t quite recall which one it is
But it reminds me that I struggled
It reminds me that I lived

In early 2018 I was invited to be part of a fundraising album called GRAY MATTERS COMPILATION for Eve Selis and her husband Tom who had been diagnosed with and was bravely recovering from a brain tumor. Various artists (Jack Tempchin, Mike Keneally, Berkley Hart, Earl Thomas, Veronica May and others!) were recording songs with the amazing Back to the Gardens Band and I was so honored to be included. I had just written Framed (game song) and humbly brought it to the studio. I watched as the band listened to my rough version and then talked amongst themselves about where to add solos, how to address the intro and all of that. It was so incredible watching these people (San Diego’s version of The Wrecking Crew!) work. The outcome was this song and I am so happy to include it on this 20 Years Here collection. p.s. Tom recovered and is doing amazing. J

Christmas In California

Christmas in California
v08: 10/16/2020
© 2019, 2020
Key: A major
tempo: 120 bpm
Music & lyrcs by Carl Paradise & Linda Nicks. BMI.       Lead vox:  Tiffany White-Ells           pr@CarlParadise.com

Packed up the car, now that we're through
Heard the California sun'll kick the winter blues
But now that I'm here, it's crystal clear
That things just ain't the same this time of year

It was the coldest winter yet
For while it's 70 outside I shiver with regret
I know I should be singin' a happy song
But how can I rejoice when all is gone

Clear blue skies, completely disguise that it's …

Christmas in California, no snow on the ground
Down here by the ocean, there's no one around

No children sleighing, no "yo ho ho"
No one to kiss beneath the mistletoe
No church bells ringing, no carolers singing
It's not like the Christmas from my upbringing

The festive things I remember
Aren't the same when it's summer in December
Jack Frost could never survive here
And neither could Santa's little reindeer

[Repeat pre-chorus & chorus]

Bridge
Doesn't feel like Christmas, being here alone
Didn't think I'd miss it, but I long to go home

[Solo]

Christmas in California, no snow on the ground
Down here by the ocean, there's no one around

Anxious Love

Sabrina Sapal

Singer: Elliott Wilde
Songwriters: Elliott Wilde, Sabrina K Sapal
Music: Elliott Wilde
Title: Anxious Love

Verse 1:
Holding you here in my arms
I can’t quite reach you
I don’t fall for shiny charms
my hearts not brand new

Pre-Chorus:
Mixed drinks and mixed signals
Another chance down the drain
Fixed thoughts and fixed triggers
Will never stop this train

Chorus:
I can’t tame
My Anxious love
Killed the flame
That I’m dreamin’ of
I can’t blame
Your Anxious love
We play games
I’m so tired of

Verse 2:
Every picture perfect post
Was out of focus
Took your love in double dose
Never smelled roses

Pre-Chorus:
Twisted words with twisted lies
We’re always left to Explain
Cheap shots and cheap disguise
Leaves nothing left to gain

Chorus

Bridge:
Spinning around it makes me sick
I look for hope I just won’t quit
We’re a candle without a wick
We’re the problem we just don’t fit

Chorus

Like You Used To

Janet Snare

Like You Used To

By Janet Snare

Verse
Touch my hand
Like you used to
Brush my hair from my face
Like you used to
Talk to me about your day
Before the sun slips away

Chorus
I want to go back
Can you go back
Can you love me like you used to

Verse
We don’t  laugh
Like we used  to
You don’t even try
Like you used to
Trouble’s been rumbling for such a long time
Still I’m afraid it’ll split the sky

Chorus
I want to go back
Can you go back
Can you love me like you used to
I want to go back
Can you go back
Can you love me

White Sand Christmas

Rick Karatas

                             WHITE SAND CHRISTMAS

The weather man’s calling for snow
A cold wind just stung my face
But I’ve got a Tropical goal
Already packed my suitcase

Got my plane ticket, gonna fly first class
This Arctic Air mass can kiss my --

Gonna have a WHITE SAND CHRISTMAS
Where the water’s blue and crystal clear
Gonna have a WHITE SAND CHRISTMAS
A WHITE SAND CHRISTMAS this year

All day long I’ll work on my tan
While the folks back home all freeze
I’ll have a chilled drink in my hand
On a beach with a balmy breeze

Got no jingle bells, won’t ridin’ a sleigh
But I’ll be laughin’ all the way

          Repeat Chorus
I’ll be singing carols
to the beat of those steel drums
Drinkin’ that pa rum pum pum, rump pum pum RUM

          Repeat Chorus

Firefighters

Aaron Li

Firefighters by Aaron Li

(Dedicated to Charlie Morton and other firefighters)

Verse
There was a baby, about to be born
The family was revealing if it’s a boy or girl
They had a cheerful celebration
They burst the Tannerite in pink or blue

Chorus
Sirens screaming, people crying
Houses burning, heroes arriving
Thousands of acres, disappearing
Firefighters, fearlessly battling

Verse
There is lots of trash in the ocean
There are glaciers that are melting
There are fishes that are dying
There are forests that are burning

Bridge
Firefighters, you are the heroes
Firefighters, you are the victors
Firefighters, you are the warriors
Firefighters, you are the saviors

Verse
There was a hero, Charlie Morton
He charged into the flames, never came back living
He’ll enjoy the world with no wildfires
He’ll have the eternal blessing in heaven

Dancing with You
Mark Richmond

When I was young I dreamt of falling in Love
then I became a man I wanted to build a castle
And wait for the perfect Queen
I went to dance
where I saw you
I knew I needed to meet you
I spun you in my arms and we never came down together

Chorus
I will always be dancing with you
I will always dance with you Hand and hand we go down this road I know

We circled the floor floating in the air.
Now I am still dancing circling life in your hands

I forget lots of things
but I always remember Dancing with you.
round and round we go sometimes I stumble
but we always seem to fly

Chorus
I will always be dancing with you I will always dance with you Hand and hand we go
down this road

circling life with you hand in hand

growing old
I will always dance with you round and round
we go my love
Now that the castle is bear
it time for our kids to go and so hand and hand I will be there

down this road
I know
like the pictures you want to keep we are here now
lets dance
down this down this road

Chorus
I will always be dancing with you I will always dance with you

One Breath At A Time
John McLean Allan

VERSE 1
I’ve traveled too fast on this bumpy road
So much I missed, I’ve cheated my sou
Talk to the mirror but I bleed when it cracks
I can’t keep my head out the past

The future keeps callin’ and I’m pickin’ up
Same old story, yeah, “You’re all outta luck”
Nothing out there but panic and fear

I wanna to live, one breath at a time
‘Cause I can get lost in a minute
I wanna to live, one breath at a time
Anything more and I’m spinning

VERSE 3

Goldmine

Chris Anderson

Goldmine
By Chris Anderson

Verse 1
I see you, you see me
As I walk across the street
Attache in my hand
Filled with pictures of the land
North and south, east and west
Searching for the place that’s best

Verse 2
On a map, near the top
There’s an x that marks the spot
Indicates that there’s gold
Could it be the motherlode?
If it is, then we’re set
Never be in debt again

Chorus
Searching for a goldmine
Tangent and the cosine
Topographic baseline
Searching for a goldmine

Instrumental Interlude

Verse 3
I dig here, I dig there
A lot of nothing I do fear
But that’s okay, sunny day
Glad the dirt is a soft clay
Oh my Lord, looks like gold
I think I found the motherlode

Chorus

Bridge
I wonder what this will do to me
Will you love me just the same?
Or will I be an insufferable
An intolerable pain?
Searching for a goldmine
Searching for a goldmine
Searching for a goldmine
Searching for a goldmine

Saved By The River

Artie Weitz

SAVED BY THE RIVER
by
Artie Weitz/Garry Corman ©2020

Verse:
Old church by the Tallahatchie burned down one summer day
Passin’ by when the flames exploded I felt somethin’ carry me away
Clothes soaked when I woke up later not a scratch to leave no scars
Funny thing to hear the preacher say “boy, you don’t know how lucky you are”

Chorus:
Cause I was saved by the river
I was hand delivered
And I’m still alive
I was saved by the river

Verse:
Tried my luck on the Mississippi, sat down in a holdem game
Feelin’ damn near invincible, I went all in, they thought I’z insane
Got called and the room got quiet, then he flopped an ace high straight
Thinkin’ flush when the turn was my diamond, one more like that is all it would take

Chorus:
Then I was saved by the river
Card was hand delivered
And I’m still alive
I was saved by the river

Bridge:
Flew back home first class, then I knocked on the preacher’s door
You need a church, I got cash, but I come back for somethin’ more
Then you took me, he took me down to the shore, and I was

Chorus:
Saved by the river
I was hand delivered
And I’m so alive
I was saved, I was saved by the river
Yeah I was hand delivered
And I’m so alive I was saved by the river

Whoa saved by the river

Shattered Heart

Nathan DeMarco-Jacobson

Shattered Heart
by Nathan Jacobson

Verse 1:
I opened the door when I drove home
On the table, all I saw was a yellow slip note
With red ink saying she has left me,
But no reason was given you see

Chorus 1:
She wrecked my...
Shattered heart, my battered heart
Why did she leave me this way?
She wrecked my...
Shattered heart, my battered heart
She didn't even have much to say

Verse 2:
I felt blindsided by a sucker punch
I didn't see this coming, but I was made the fool
There's no use in holding a grudge
It won't give me back my love
Chorus 2: (Same as Chorus 1)

Verse 3:
Did she find another man?
Maybe her family and friends told her I wasn't her
With just a few words on a yellow slip note, I can't be sure
Either way, she made other plans

Chorus 3: (Same as Chorus 1)
