Additional San Diego Songwriter Organizations

Besides NSAI San Diego, there are other long-established local songwriting organizations: Listen Local San Diego, The San Diego Songwriters Meetup Group, and the San Diego Songwriters Guild (SDSG).  Below is more information about each songwriting group.

Listen Local SD

This organization was established to introduce music lovers to San Diego's performing bands, artists, musicians and songwriters.  Listen Local hosts many singer-songwriter concerts, events, etc., including "The Game," a popular songwriting get-together every six weeks where a title is provided and songwriters of any level and genre are encouraged to write a song using that title within the six weeks.  The song is then performed live!  For more information, or to sign up for the email newsletter, click HERE.

San Diego Songwriters Meetup Group

The San Diego Songwriters Meetup Group has a membership of over 600 songwriting and music enthusiasts.  The group includes musicians, producers, vocalists, etc., and encourages members to collaborate.  They often have guests and special events like providing original music and songs for the annual 48-Hour Film Festival.  All genres and levels are welcome.  It's free, but donations are encouraged at the meetings to help defray costs.  For more information, click HERE.

San Diego Songwriters Guild (SDSG)

The San Diego Songwriter’s Guild has helped hundreds of songwriters improve their ability to craft better songs. In addition it has assisted in creating networking opportunities with music industry professionals.  The Guild’s mission is to assist its members and the interested public in the advancement of songwriting skills through educational programs, and to expose original songs to the recording, television and motion picture industries via pitch sessions with entertainment professionals.  For more information, click HERE.
